Have you ever wondered which restaurant serves the BIGGEST burger here in Memphis? Well, wonder no more. There’s a place called the Kooky Canuck at 97 S 2nd Street (formerly known The Big Foot Lodge) that serves a monster burger that they’ve creatively named the Kookamonga Burger. Just how big is the Kookamonga Burger you ask? Well, it calls for 4lbs of fresh ground-chuck, two pounds of hamburger bun, and one and a half pounds of lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and cheese…seven and one-half pounds in total.
In fact, the Kooky Canuck has created a standing food challenge for anyone who dares to try to finish the whole thing. It’s called the Kookamonga Challenge. If you can finish the Kookamonga Burger in 60 minutes, without aid from others, you get the burger for free! You also get your picture on the Hall of Fame at the Kooky Canuck.
So far over 2,800 brave souls have taken the challenge. Only 7 have succeeded.
