Located on the east side of Memphis, Shelby Farms Park is one of the largest parks in an urban environment in the United States. It’s the place to go for outdoor activities in Memphis, and you’ll see joggers, walkers, off- and on-road cyclists, and boaters on Patriot Lake. You can also go horseback riding at Shelby Farms Park. The Stables are located on the north side of the park and are open from Thursday through Monday every week, subject to weather and trail conditions.

At The Stables, you can sign up for a one-hour ride led by an experienced guide along wooded trails behind Beaver Lake. Six rides are scheduled daily beginning at 9:45 a.m. and every hour and 15 minutes after that. The last ride is scheduled to depart at 4 p.m. Riders must be at least 8 years old, and a liability waver signed by a parent or legal guardian is required for anyone under 18.

Space on trail rides is filled on a first-come, first-served basis, but reservations are accepted if you pay in full at the time you make the reservation. Make your plans now to do one of the best outdoor activities in Memphis!
